On this day we were looking at Finca Nauyaca, which was actually closer to Platanillo, and right by the Nauyaca waterfalls.

Denver to Glenwood Springs by Train Take Time to Enjoy the : On a weekend away the journey can add up to a lot of hours, why not enjoy it? When was the last time you took the train? The Amtrak train ride from Denver to Glenwood Springs is undeniably one of the most scenic train rides you can experience. The train conductors point out places of interest along the journey and let you know when you'll be passing through tunnels (there are over 20 along the way). Fellow passengers chuckle as the train passes rafters floating along the Colorado River, apparently mooning passing trains is a thing!

Earlier this month I realized summer was waning and I still hadn't gone on one of the road trips I'd put on my list to do for this summer; a trip to Sand Wash Basin to see wild mustangs. So on the calendar it went: 08/30-08/31. Turns out this was very good scheduling, the BLM is rounding up those very same mustangs, reducing the population from over 700 horses to a mere 50, with the round-up starting on September 01, just 2 days after our visit.
