Exploring Costa Rica - personal accounts of our travels, expat life, Costa Rica ways
After spending an hour or two at the market we set off for the Osa Peninsula. We were taking the longer less traveled mountain route and would return along the coastal route later in the week. Per google, it would be approximately 2-hour drive.
Gandoca Manzanillo National Refuge After snorkeling, we drove the remaining couple of miles to Manzanillo, which is as far south as you can drive on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Manzanillo is a tiny fishing village of about 2 blocks in size, blink and you'll miss it! (Truthfully you can't, as it's the end of the road). Here we parked our car and headed for the entrance to Refugio Nacional Gandoca-Manzanillo.
It had been 3 years since our first trip of many to Costa Rica and I had yet to visit the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. This fall I decided it was time to fix that with a trip to the Caribbean coast.
Nayauca Waterfall Property Driving around Tinamaste it became quite apparent that there is lots of land for sale, in fact, there is lots of land for sale all around Costa Rica. On this day we were looking at Finca Nauyaca, which was actually closer to Platanillo, and right by the Nauyaca waterfalls.
